Planner Spotlight: Sierra Friend of MäksēLife
In the summer of 2019, Sierra Friend, founder of MäksēLife, came to us at the 11th hour for help with her 2020 planner line.
The call was urgent and the task at hand was monumental.
You see, Sierra wasn’t just launching her planners into the world, she was launching her whole business! And everything was on the line.
I was so inspired by Sierra and her work up to this point that I HAD to help her.
She had come too far to fail and I knew I could save the day.
Sierra had found her own manufacturer in China and hired a very talented designer to create her files. THAT is no small feat! But unfortunately, the files were created in a program that wasn’t compatible with the printer’s requirements, and her designer didn’t know how to fix them.
I quickly recreated ALL of her planner files in Adobe InDesign, the preferred program for creating planners, and my editors rushed them through our diligent proofreading process.
Then Sierra introduced me to the printer she hired, and I took over managing the production process with a vendor that neither of us had worked with before.
(Whew, I'm exhausted just thinking about it.)
There were some kinks, but nothing my team and I couldn’t handle.
MäksēLife went on to have a successful launch in the Fall of 2019 and we've been working together ever since!
We’ve not only helped Sierra streamline her production process and product launch strategy, but we’ve introduced her to a fulfillment warehousing partner and expanded her product line into some exciting new categories — like the stencil bookmark that went viral on TikTok, buttery soft folios, markers to match the MäksēLife color wheel, and quite possibly the best digital planner on the market!
